Meteora was without doubt one of the most interesting places I have ever seen, much less been to. It was like a surreal experience, just being in those impossible mountains, not to mention the monasteries precariously perched on the tops of them. The monasateries were all Byzantine with awesome mosaics, paintings and beautiful brass chandeliers hanging up there on the tops of those incredible rocks. Wow! No matter how long I live I will never get over that place. The photos only hint at what it was like.
