13.2 degreees this Sunday morning!

Snow still covers the trees, the driveway and the cars. Atlanta's high is going to be 32 degrees and here at Big Creek it will be even colder that that. The sun melted some of the snow off the roof yesterday and the two foot long icicles have disappeared from the eves of the cupola. All of the Koi ponds are frozen most of the way across and the fish are very still. The water is very clear and there is no sign of the huge algae bloom that clouded the water back in the summer. It is still quite beautiful when you look out of the windows but the snow will not be missed much when it is gone. The creek itself has ice crystals that have formed on everything close to it's edge, sticks, the dry grass and twigs that have fallen into the water.
