A Walk in the Woods

This morning Lauren and I drove the Jeep up to Dave's and Lynn's house and parked it. From there we walked down to the confluence of Big Creek and Butler creek. I haven't been over there in a long time and although it has not changed very much it was still fun to see it again. Lauren seemed to enjoy it too. Dave drove down to say hello and showed us a tree that had three perfectly carved holes chiseled in to the dead hollow core. I could only figure that it was a Pileated Woodpecker that had so perfectly carved those holes into the tree. We stopped by to say hello to Lynn and she gave us each a cookie to eat on the way home. They were really delicious.

All three of the dogs had a blast and cavorted all over the mountain sides and in and out of both of the creeks there. Linda had a dental cleaning appointment and should be back any minute.
