Yesterday morning As Peyton left for work, I walked out to let Moose and Brownie take a walk. I noticed a vehicle coming down the driveway. It was Peyton coming back down and I noticed he had his arm out the window holding a stick. Casually wrapped around the stick and obviously dead was a Timber Rattlesnake with fifteen rattles and a button. It was almost five feet long. Apparently a day or two before as Linda was backing up the driveway she ran over the snake, who was laying in the driveway and crushed him pretty good. It must have been able to slither off into the grass next to the driveway where Peyton saw him as he was leaving for work. Peyton is working in Ellijay and stays with us several nights through the week so that he doesn't have to drive all the way home to Hayesville.
The rattler is now in snake heaven!!!
