Hot Tuesday

Today was really hot! It was too hot to work down in the garden so all I did was turn on the water and let it go. While watering the garden I replanted all the little tomato plants that came from Hobard's farm. They are a yellow tomato that has been in his family for over a hundred years. He doesn't even know what the name of it is, if it has one. It is a beautiful shade of yellow with a serious red blush on one side. And the taste, wow! It is wonderful and does not have a lot of the problems that some of the other 'modern' varieties have. Mostly this year I have planted heirloom tomatoes that I bought over in Birmingham with Bric. They all seem to be doing fine although the moles and or Voles have tunneled through some of the roots and seriously set back the plants. So far they look as though they will recover.
